About InstantCV
InstantCV is a free resume and CV builder that runs entirely in your browser. You fill in your details, watch a live A4 preview update as you type, pick a theme, and download a print-ready PDF. There is no account to create and nothing to pay for.
Private by design
Your resume text and photo stay in this browser tab. Nothing is stored on a server and there are no user accounts.
Guided writing help
Built-in prompts and role examples help you phrase your summary and bullet points. You always keep the final edit.
PDF on your device
The PDF is generated locally in full A4 with selectable, machine-readable text — the format applicant tracking systems prefer.
What is inside
- 25 role-specific resume examples across tech, design, healthcare, finance, education, trades, sales and operations — each one a real editable document you can load with one click.
- 20 resume themes, from conservative single-column layouts through to sidebar and editorial designs.
- Resume import — paste or upload an existing resume and the fields are filled in for you.
- Guides that explain how resumes are actually parsed and screened.
Who it is for
First-time job seekers who need a solid structure, experienced professionals who want a clean one-page refresh, career changers reframing past work, and anyone who would rather not hand personal details to a subscription resume site.
Who is behind InstantCV
Muhammad Ali
Founder of InstantCV
Muhammad Ali built InstantCV after watching friends and colleagues fill in a full resume on a “free” builder and then hit a paywall at the download button. He now maintains all 25 resume examples, 20 themes and 23 guides on the site.
He writes every guide and example on the site himself, tests each theme against real applicant tracking system parsers, and keeps the whole builder client-side so no resume text ever leaves the visitor’s browser.
